Re: What Is 'Cheap' In Australia Compared To The UK?

Well we are much younger than 70 and it wasn't raining when we were there, sounds as though we were very lucky if it has been raining for that long. I live in Brisbane so I'm used to the rain anyway.

Re: What Is 'Cheap' In Australia Compared To The UK?

Sorry to hear that, we have seen plenty of sunshine and enjoyed many a day by the coast not that beaches interest us at all but love looking at old coast towns and villages.

Re: What Is 'Cheap' In Australia Compared To The UK?

Parking isnt free in most places in Brisbane, just the opposite. Parks in the UK are also free as is the sunshine and the beaches. I do agree about the free BBQ's, they are great.

I think your quote described the Western world not just the UK.

Re: What Is 'Cheap' In Australia Compared To The UK?

I find the same when people say 'product x is expensive in the UK' when clearly it isn't. It's weird how we view things. I use the $2 to £1 which I have done for 20 odd years.

Re: What Is 'Cheap' In Australia Compared To The UK?

I have read this a couple of times, I was in the UK late last year and the fruit was great. I'm not sure where you would be getting this disgusting fruit from ? I'm not saying it was better there but...

Re: What Is 'Cheap' In Australia Compared To The UK?

That's interesting, I know that home phone/broadband/TV packages are way cheaper there and mobiles always used to be as well.

Re: What Is 'Cheap' In Australia Compared To The UK?

I found them to be very good value and obviously great quality. Hopefully the chickens will supply more than enough organic manure, my wife also wants miniature pigs as well so we should be fine...

Re: What Is 'Cheap' In Australia Compared To The UK?

Yes, I checked out a couple of farmers markets when in the UK recently and they are definitely where we will be buying most of our green stuff but we also intend growing a lot as well and keeping...

Re: What Is 'Cheap' In Australia Compared To The UK?

It's sort of like fingers in the ears 'I cant hear you' kind of thing. I can fully understand those people in a new country wanting to see only the good stuff but you have to be realistic.

Re: What Is 'Cheap' In Australia Compared To The UK?

That's weird, I have phoned a couple of places and they have said they will take my full NCD as long as I have proof. They are all different though. 40% is a good start.
