The bandwidth checking in the iPlayer app is horribly conservative.

I tend to use other mechanisms (e.g. Get_iplayer and XBMC) to watch BBC TV.

It's superb. Edge of seat stuff. "The Bridge" is pretty good as well but not sure if they are still on iPlayer.

If you want something REALLY good and gruesome, go for "Spirals" - French...
