Finally!

I-129 change of employer application filed on June 30.
USCIS received on July 9.
RFE received on October 25: my pay stubs; employer's address clarification.
RFE response sent on...

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

For short trips of 30 days or less, to Canada, Mexico or adjacent islands excluding Cuba, it seems you can re-enter on your I-94: 22CFR41.112(d)...

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

Interesting read thanks for sharing and congrats on getting your extension :)

I'm in the middle of changing employers via USCIS right now. Filed on June 30, accepted by USCIS on July 9, RFE sent...

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

I tried searching on this but I'm yet to find anything conclusive. I did find some interesting links though. It seems even for some attorneys it's a topic of debate.

A decent read:

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

FWIW our case was received by USCIS received on July 9 and they just sent an RFE yesterday, October 25. So that's 3.5 months so far (really, 4 months since we posted it)

I'm not sure what they're...

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

Hi

Am I likely to run into problems if I go and get a new E-3 from a consulate while I have an I-129 pending for the same employer/LCA?

The I-129 is apparently going to take 3-5 months and no...

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

Ah OK. I actually already have an approved LCA for an August 1st start date because the lawyer thought premium processing was available for E-3 I-129. So the original plan was to wait for I-129 to be...

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

Thanks for the answer! I'd actually totally prefer to do it at a consulate. The part I'm stuck on is, how do I get it approved before announcing my resignation? Or are you saying I could leave the...

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

I like my current employer and I want to minimize the inconvenience. There would be a very real difference if I was to give zero days notice as opposed to four weeks.

Assuming I hated my employer...

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

Hi all,

I asked two E-3 questions here (http://britishexpats.com/forum/showthread.php?t=765501) but for whatever reason they didn't seem to attract any replies - perhaps because I didn't do the...

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

Cool thanks.

Outside of getting a SSN, bank accounts and a driver's license, filing taxes and keeping my job, is there anything else that needs to happen? :)

Re: E-3 Visa for Australians Thread- It's all in here

Hi,

I just arrived in the USA on E-3 and set up a checking and savings account at Chase.

They asked me to fill out a W-8BEN form. Is this correct or should it be a W-9, or something else?

If...

Re: E-3 Visa 2010 Running Thread

Ah OK. Yeah the consulate in Canberra said there's no need, I guess I just have to tactfully convince the company lawyer of this :) Although hopefully by the sounds of it the evaluation will be...

Re: E-3 Visa 2010 Running Thread

Ah that's very comforting to hear! So when you say "general understanding" does that include evaluation firms in the USA? In other words, I can be pretty confident my 3 year AU degree will be...

Re: E-3 Visa 2010 Running Thread

What type of degree and length, if you don't mind me asking?

Just in case the company lawyer forces me to do this, I'd be interested to know of a place that's likely to equate my 3-year AU...

Re: E-3 Visa 2010 Running Thread

Update: I rang Canberra's $3/minute line and they said a 3-year Australian Bachelor's degree is sufficient provided it's relevant to the position. No U.S.-equivalency needed.

I appreciate it's...

Re: E-3 Visa 2010 Running Thread

Hey everyone,

Will I be OK with a 3 year Aussie Bachelor's degree (Griffith Uni) if I take my E3 interview in Melbourne?

I'm thinking I will be OK based on this...
