I know a couple of people, and heard some stories from real estate agents recently, of people in Sydney who have struggled to get finance from banks after they have signed...

Agree. I have seen plenty of strata's which has council rates component on top of water and strata.

Yeah, every unit owner pays 50k.

At least with your own place you decide on the up keep, you decide, and you decide when you pay for things that need rectifying.

Also, apartments generally hit you with a strata and often a levy when your slabs develop concrete cancer. Its not nice getting an invoice for 50k.

Really? I just checked Mermaid Beach, Coolangatta, and Broadbeach and they all gave some pretty disappointing yield results.

Some wildy varying growth results though. On one hand houses have...
