There is also a cycle track that our students use to get from Waikanae to Paraparaumu college. Or buses that go from the school grounds to Waikanae. But loads of them bike it.

I would double check on your Canadian licence. I got told I had to retake my test here but in the end in was just a swap. But I don't think it matters where you are in NZ I wouldn't want to do it...

Upper Hutt!! Really! Check out the Kapiti coast, much better weather, schooling good. Easy commute to Welly, and if you really want to hang out with ex-pats, lots up here.
