well the disc alone is $6.5k. Bugger me why it's that expensive but it is and the Doc still makes an extra $8.5K. He may have done double the Uni time but I don't get half his wages :confused:

And if they 'could' do it I'd be waiting for 5 years and they'd probably only fuse the vertebrae instead of use an artificial disc. I have constant back pain due to the pinched nerves.

The health fund system is a joke in Oz. With Bupa in the UK I could get my back fixed for minimal cost. In Oz it's $15k out of my own pocket. Medicare and health fund contribution was $6k for a total...

Even on my engineering wage in Oz I'll be pretty penniless once I own a house as that'll rape me for most of my wages. Even renting a decent place is expensive so the COL is similar in that respect...

Wages are higher in Oz in my field but the COL would be a little better in the UK at present with rent and groceries.

No we make a point of looking at house prices and do self catering so know the cost of groceries. Staying in hotels and eating out is expensive in most countries tho Oz beats everyone hands down,...

Actually I know someone who works for Rolls Royce and the reason for the engines having issues is ONLY with the Qantas planes because the tight arse bastards asked Rolls to squeeze some more miles...

I'm an electrical engineer stuck in Control systems but the jobs i've seen in Brissy have been as low as 70K and senoir positions for 100-120K.

BTW does tiger still do return to Singapore for...
