his manager rang them and complained - apparently an english nurse in a&e has recently registered with them and he didnt have to take the ielts.
they have now said they will...

Yet my friend has been given a categorical no to the question of whether he needs ielts, he has a great long list of emails he has sent and been replied with a no ...

their standards still state...

but my friend got an email saying the opposite :(
he's doing it this saturday, so will go and do it anyway ... but i think its very poor showing by the ahpra when they are giving out conflicting...

what i dont really get is why they felt the need to clarify something that was fairly clear already - ie that english speaking aussies who trained in aus didnt...

im still confused ... my friend has a job in Vic to start asap, and it was his manager over there who told him that he didnt need the ielts (currently the only thing holding up his reg). he queried...

as from yesterday, english trained nurses who completed thier secondary school training in english no longer need to do the ietls test!!!
this is only for registration with AHPRA.
