We were out for dinner in Clerkenwell last night. Had a lovely Spanish waitress and long chat with her. She loved London describing it as mad, but in a great way.
I don't think she was going back...

That's not correct. There is a guaranteed minimum income, so pensions are topped up to that if necessary. On top of that there is relief on rents, council tax etc.
You may not be rich but you do not...

If you smoke and drink you save, apart from that I really do not think that there is that much in it.
You can get great value lunch deals in the uk. eg I was in the Seattle hotel (4*), Brighton...

I suspect you are right.
All these "extras" should be ceased and the saving used to increase the basic pension. Isn't that the subject of another recent thread?
