Re: Home and garden projects

I had a place once where the bathroom outlets had lost power, the GFCI was on an exterior outlet at the front (i.e. opposite end) of the house hidden behind a bush.

Re: Home and garden projects

If anyone knows the home address of the guy that designed bathroom tap cartridges and the god awful way they screw into the body of the tap do let me know. I'd like a word.

Re: Home and garden projects

Question for the hive mind.

Re: Home and garden projects

Yes, I think it's fairly regional. I had to deal with subterranean ones here a few years back. Little mud tube up the side of the house, there was also a crack in the foundation they got in through....

Re: Home and garden projects

Oddly enough I found a twitter account for the local public works. They prefer you bring it to a hazardous waste event (all of which are clear across town), mail them back to the manufacturer or one...

Re: Home and garden projects

Does anyone know what to do with old smoke alarms. Just replaced half a dozen of them because they were over ten years old. Can I just chuck them in the trash?

I guess I could given to a boy scout...

Re: Home and garden projects

Angle grinder (I think they have a different name here) with a ceramic cutting wheel? Alternatively you could rent a wet saw which is a table saw specially for cutting tiles.

Re: Home and garden projects

The advantage of using an extension (beyond potentially being a code violation to not use one) is that it protects the intervening wall from the outlet should it spark or over heat. The extension...

Re: Home and garden projects

One of those Sundays where you end up in your pjs all day and still do a load of yard work.

Re: Home and garden projects
