Look, you may be getting that driving time straight off maps.google.com.au (or possibly the brochure from the property developers), but there is NO WAY you can drive from Mernda to the CBD in 45 mins...

The man has a point there Colin. Head South to the peninsula.
You will find a shed load of very nice sub 400k 4x2 houses in Langwarrin. Only 45 mins to the CBD as well as Buzzy has pointed out.

27k was a straight line distance as the crow flies from the CBD.
Driving distance from Doreen is actually 35k.

Shocking gridlocks out that way at peak hour times Buzzy.

Doreen is a fair way out (27km from CBD) if you are looking at commuting in to the city ?
Maybe it does not seem that far on a map, but the traffic will hurt you.
No public transport and your run...

Thankfully no. We bought in Rosanna in March '05. Thought we bought at the peak ! Happy we made the plunge in hindsight.
