I'm writing from LA and ARCO and Costco is $6 per gal for regular. Just returned from Upstate NY and it was about $4.50. Curiously diesel is the nearly the same in CA and NY. $6 in NY and $6.40 in LA...

Imperial gallons make gas seem more expensive, but one gets better mileage. My 1967 Sunbeam was calibrated in gallons and it took me a while to figure out why it was so “inaccurate.”

This accident took place in January 2000 at Burbank Airport. I just looked up L.A. County average prices, and unleaded regular stayed under $2.00 until 2005. BTW, gas is lower than a year ago.

Now headed West. Started at $1.95 at Costco in upstate New York dropping to $1.75 in Missouri, back up to $1.95 in Kansas, a little over 2 in Colorado, $2.40 in Utah.

Just drove cross the US. Varied from $3.24 down to $1.99 per gal. Interesting that high altitude fuel was 85 octane not 87.

Yesterday $2.69 for diesel. Premium at $4.09 [regular and mid under $3 but not by much].

We drive the TDI a lot more than the 525i for some reason. :)

It used to be that the San Gabriels were only visible in winter time [Every January 1st, the TV broadcast from the corner of Orange Grove & Colorado would mention the "the snow capped San Gabriels"...
