Re: The Cricket Thread

Jimmy Anderson rested and Broad might not play either.

Going to be a tough ask for England but I hope they start well tomorrow for the sake of a decent series to provide welcome relief from other...

Re: The Cricket Thread

A bit of weather ahead next week but The Gabba drains well so a result for the first Ashes Test should be possible.

Just a couple of visits left for me (Day 1 & 4) to the concrete sweatbox to go...

Re: The Cricket Thread

Rough treatment of Paine, he seems to learnt his lesson years ago and now the latest victim of cancel culture. To have seemingly played his last Test for this indiscretion seems overboard.

Looks...

Re: The Cricket Thread

Oh dear, now he has both apologised (fatal mistake in the cancel culture world) and backed away from his former apparent convictions.

Sad capitulation.

Re: The Cricket Thread

It is telling that Quinton’s teammates have come out in his defence to his decision and cited his actions in real life that have backed up his attitude and actions towards “diversity and inclusion”....

Re: The Cricket Thread

Big fan of your man Quinton de Kock making a stand against associating himself with BLM as an organisation here.

Being asked to mandate doing the virtue signally knee thing on the bus ride to the...

Re: The Cricket Thread

T20 World Cup underway … shame the “bend the knee” BS has somehow persisted this far.

Big fan of Charles Leclerc in F1 here for his stance on the matter.

Re: The Cricket Thread

In other news Jimmy Anderson’s knighthood has been held back because he might get picked on in The Ashes.

Re: The Cricket Thread

Aus India has been a really good series. Two flawed teams make good entertainment.

India have done particularly well to rally after injuries.

Did day 1 at the Gabba, still have burnt knees ......

Re: The Cricket Thread

You may be right about the batting expectations, I hadn’t thought of it that way.

I’ve clearly been here a while ...

I don’t think they’ll drop Warner, he’ll survive to murder Pakistan, etc...

Re: The Cricket Thread

Anyone seeing this debacle as being the difference of one man is seriously mistaken.

Seriously dodgy batting (on both sides, admittedly), an opener that should never have been there, lack of...

Re: The Cricket Thread

Yeh, not impressed by the bowling intensity when they were two down for next to zip with the series on the line ...

Looks like a rearguard action to try and save it is in order.

Going to hammer...

Re: The Cricket Thread

Smith marches on, got to admire the guy despite being caught up in the sandpaper nastiness.

Booing getting tedious given the chief instigator, Warner, is getting his Karma served back to him on a...

Re: The Cricket Thread

I suspect the people booing have never faced a cricket ball in any grade, they are just following the mindless herd mentality.

Don’t know if the batting is a hangover from shorter forms, the pitch...

Re: The Cricket Thread

Re: The Cricket Thread

Two dodgy teams but one has a Smith.

Got to admire the guy, I think he (and Bancroft) was put in a crappy position by a true scrub, Warner.

Roy’s charge on Lyon to be totally beaten and bowled...
