On ECAS I'm marked as "in process" but I'm not because it doesn't say anything about when they *started* processing my file. More waiting required!

No, the 120 day email is under the previous system. You'll get confirmation that you meet the criteria (or not), and then you'll be processed subsequent to that.

I'm speculating that it's because there's a large amount of visa fraud in some areas of the middle east and they've brought it over to London to reduce the incidence of said fraud. I don't know...

12 months from when the visa office receive your information, I believe. Varies dramatically for everyone though! Good luck.

My understanding is that if they don't believe you've got the required funds during the application process or at the point of landing, they'll not grant you PR or activate your visas. The money is...

The point of the proof of funds is to prove that you have the money... You'll quite likely have to prove this at landing. If you're not in a position with savings, you might want to reconsider...

I wouldn't worry at your stage, 4 weeks isn't a long time to have waited for 120 day email. Leave it a bit longer.

I wouldn't be worried at this stage, it's about a month since they took payment. Some people wait longer before they get the email.
