You're not comparing apples to apples. It wouldn't take six months if you went private in the UK either.

The huge difference is that HAVE to go private in the US.

Looking at your list, I think you know the answers and are just looking to get your opinions validated.

Which is fine, of course - I'm guessing you are checking to make sure you aren't colouring...
