Can't help sydney but in QLD you need to have provisional liciense for 12 month before you can get full licience and in this this time you go to college etc. you need full licience before you can go...

Do you know which states will give a provisional licience based on experience, as this would have a huge bearing as to where abouts in oz we settle.

My OH is a plumber with 20 years experience in the UK but dropped out of college with minimal qualifications and therefore only has first year...
