Re: What's wrong with Canada?

I understand more than you realize. It's not isolated and yes those were illegal sales. They saw that there was a demand for Leffe at a cheaper price and they got a EU source. Obviously they were...

Re: What's wrong with Canada?

I just don't see LCBO as being something that's big enough to flaw Canada. Ontario, to a point yes. I'm surprised to see Abbey beer sold in UK for more than it is sold for in Canada despite the...

Re: What's wrong with Canada?

I had the same issues with the money spent on decor and marketing but after visiting some dingie shops in the US and UK that made you feel dirty just by remembering where you got the beer. I'm glad...

Re: What's wrong with Canada?

LOL

Toronto will have a greater selection of alcohol than London... does that work for you? Despite London having a lot more retailers. Go and ravage London for 5 different tequilas or 60...

Re: What's wrong with Canada?

So you mean UK beer is measured differently? Because this doesn't effect Leffe being Belgian. Carlsberg in UK has 3.8% and 5% in Canada... explain? What they call in UK as Carlsberg Export has 5%......

Re: What's wrong with Canada?

I'd love to but the alcohol content varies... even Hobgoblin is 5.2% in UK and 5.5 in LCBO so it would be taxed more. If sainbury's had prices on their site I would, otherwise I don't really care...

Re: What's wrong with Canada?

I used to hate the LCBO but then I came to the UK and realized how spoiled we were in Ontario. Even a large wine store in London doesn't have the selection an average LCBO has. That's the problem...

Re: What's wrong with Canada?

Untrue... Ontario is great if you like variety... the amount of money I've spent on drinking in the UK in the last 6 months would last me 2 years in Ontario... On average the cost of alcohol in...

Re: What's wrong with Canada?

lol, I used to get 12 bottles for $13... it's $1/beer with return for the cheap stuff

A bottle of Hobgoblin is £1.59... that's a crazy price in $ and it's Local, they didn't have to ship it...

Re: What's wrong with Canada?

Yes but the selection and pricing is better than any store I've been in UK... mainly the selection.... it's funny to see LCBO have a better selection of English ales than an average TESCO and...

Re: What's wrong with Canada?

Mexico, Cuba, Dominican <--- all great places to visit if you want to get shot, kidnapped or robbed when you leave the resort.

Re: What's wrong with Canada?

The only thing wrong with Canada is the cold weather. But even then I would rather be covered in snow than have London's weather. I like the cold, but there isn't a warm place in Canada to visit...
