Thanks for the helpful responses, I initially thought that most Canadians went across the border because it was that much easier, but the general opinion shows stick with Canadian Stores.

If all goes well we will have a rental sorted out shortly. We didn't pack any small appliances from the UK, but having been some superstores like Real Canadian and Futureshop there is a limited...
