Re: Anyone Quitting Aus due to High Cost of Living

She has still gone from over the national average to under. Another...

Re: Anyone Quitting Aus due to High Cost of Living

Oh dear. You must have missed the bazillions of threads warning newcomers not to assume the current, historically low exchange rate is a good way to gauge salary.

Yes if I were transferring £30k...

Re: Anyone Quitting Aus due to High Cost of Living

You seem to have given up before you even got here based on a theory about potential earnings that you seem to think is a fact, but which several people now have commented is not the case for them at...

Re: Anyone Quitting Aus due to High Cost of Living

Re: Anyone Quitting Aus due to High Cost of Living

I never really do weekly shops so I don't know what is normal, but £55 seems like a tight budget in UK. I think your problem could be that $60k is a below average salary and I can see why it would...

Re: Anyone Quitting Aus due to High Cost of Living

Are you working or living on UK funds at the moment. If you are living off UK funds then it is bound to seem very expensive at the moment. Also setting up on UK funds is expensive too, we found...

Re: Anyone Quitting Aus due to High Cost of Living

.

I would like to say that my lawful...

Re: Anyone Quitting Aus due to High Cost of Living

Mmm well the definition I got says you have to be resident on a valid visa.

Not much difference in my dates, just a few weeks so I will just play it safe when the time comes and use the date I...

Re: Anyone Quitting Aus due to High Cost of Living

When I looked into it recently, I concluded that a two week validation trip could not be classed as lawful residence.

As such, I concluded that the date of my move was my lawful residence date.

Re: Anyone Quitting Aus due to High Cost of Living

Re: Anyone Quitting Aus due to High Cost of Living

Agree, we find them more expensive than supermarkets.
