Re: NSW Ambulance service

I'm sure it will happen, the question has always been when! They wouldn't keep an international applicant section on the website otherwise. The greater question for us would be when the labour...

Re: NSW Ambulance service

The more time that goes by, the less of a chance the LA will be approved. If ASNSW really wanted to bring us over, they would utilize an employee sponsored migration scheme, but it seems to me we...

Re: NSW Ambulance service

The last official piece of correspondence I received said "we anticipate the renewal of the labour agreement to be in place by the beginning of 2010." Maybe they accidentally transposed the numbers...

Re: NSW Ambulance service

I think it essentially places a points system on employee nominated visas now. This was discussed a while back in the thread.. ASNSW was saving this as a back up if the labour agreement did not go...

Re: NSW Ambulance service

Wow! This is all big news! I have the RPL certificate at the ICP level as well. When I spoke to ASNSW, which was several months ago, they stated the new labour agreement would be almost identical...

Re: NSW Ambulance service

Qualified paramedic is the P1 level paramedic. They can cannulate and give some medications. IC Paramedics are the highest level. Anyone have any news on the labour agreement? Haven't heard...

Re: NSW Ambulance service

The natural progression of paramedicine seems to be moving towards a university level education. OZ is no exception. I believe ASNSW is one of the few which do not require a degree, yet. I believe...

Re: NSW Ambulance service

Sounds like we are on the same page. Let me know what you find out. This might be an interesting option for internationals to explore.

Re: NSW Ambulance service

After a little research.. Seems like ASNSW could bring us over on an Employer Nomination Scheme. http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/skilled-workers/ens/ Looks pretty similar to the Labour Agreement...

Re: NSW Ambulance service

Sounds like we are getting stuck in the wheels of the NSW bureaucracy.. Any news whether or not NSW Health has begun the Labour Agreement application process?

IC Paramedic and...

Re: NSW Ambulance service

Wow! That is not good news at all. Couldn't imagine going over there, establishing residency, going through the 28 week induction, doing the job, then being told you have to leave because there is...

Re: NSW Ambulance service

Definitely frustrating. ASNSW just doesn't know about the proceedings. They are as in the dark as we are about it all. Hopefully they will know something for grubman (and all of us!) when he goes...

Re: NSW Ambulance service

According to ASNSW, the Labour Agreement is still on hold. Doesn't seem like anyone knows if it will even be approved. I'm starting to get a little bit worried.. I would hate to start everything...

Re: NSW Ambulance service

I received the same letter. Looks like all we can do is wait and hope the labour agreement is approved. An offer of employment would make a great Christmas gift!

Re: NSW Ambulance service

More IC paras the better, if you ask me! The email didn't sound discouraging, seems like the visas might be on hold due to an administrative hiccup which may or may not slow the process...

Re: NSW Ambulance service

From what I was told from recruitment, the Labour agreement to employ international paras expires 30 Sept 2009, so, ASNSW is waiting on a renewal from the NSW Health Department before they process...
