Thanks again,
I have decided against saying goodbyes at the airport and told my family this. To be honest the terminal I am flying from just has check in desks and thats it. There is nowhere to go...

That is true but my mum has had a thrombosis since November that just wont go. We are hoping for a christmas visit. My son and his family have already booked to come for 2 weeks in September.
