You own a British corporation, which is every bit as much an investment as a holding of shares in British Telecom.

I suspect that you will at least have to pay Italian capital tax on the balance...

It is a capital tax on the value of assets owned, and the UK has no comparable tax, which is why Rzm misunderstood.

Class 2 is peanuts - around £143-£144/yr at the moment.

They are thought to be going away, but they haven't yet, and Class 3 appears to be the default alternative, at about £715/yr.

Like I said, this is complex. If you are doing 100% of the work in the UK, then you must pay UK income and payroll taxes (NI - employee's and employer's) on all your earned income.

Generally speaking you need to pay income tax where you are physically located when you are performing the work. The complication in your case is that you are effectively self employed, working for...
