The problem with private schools is that the best ones may well be "full" and therefore not have a guaranteed place. They also likely have an assessment process before they can be offered a place. ...

I don't believe that applies to Charter Schools (they aren't forced to take additional students when they are "full".)

There are all sorts of ways to game the address system - I have a PO Box, but my bank wouldn't accept a PO Box address, and back then (unlike now) you couldn't use the street address of the Post...

This might work, but you would need to use "Apt # __" or "Unit #__" (not "PO Box #__") and you use the street address of the UPS Store (assuming there is a UPS Store in the school's catchment area,...

Until you have a US address it is likely that schools will show little or no interest in you and your attempts to contact them.

City-data.com is the site that was being referred to. That will give you "experiences", but mostly not those of British expats.
