Probably not, they're a different family, most closely related to the convulvulus/ bindweed/ morning glory.

"Nightshades" (genus "solanum"), yes, but not "deadly", they're in a different genus; and yes, green potatoes are toxic.

As well as potatoes and tomatoes, the genus solanum also contains the egg...

If you're alergic to tomatoes it isn't surprising that you might develop an allergy to potatoes as they are closely related. .... Some potatoes develop a tomato-like fruit (which us toxic) if you let...
