No you sign up, wait any waiting period and that is the way it is in most countries with healthcare.

The OP on here got kicked out of the US, could not get benefits there and thought it was a god...

I do, thanks for asking. We live in Canada, not the UK. Don't see me ever immigrating to the UK. The British taxpayers paid for my education thankfully, I just had to get shot at to pay it back.

That's what you call loyalty, leaving straight out of school. How much tax and NI did you pay while working? Who paid for your education so you had the opportunity to go?

See you eventually got the benefits, a poor decision in my view on the part of the govt. department. Cannot rationalize how you figure that because you cannot get payments in the US, you should get...
