Most of the passports issued in the UK now require biometrics and you get the RFID chip in the back. That requires an appointment, which you wouldn't be able to make without a valid passport.

I did read that they had gone into receivership, so maybe they aren't open anymore. :(

Caley's? I'm also from Norwich and the thing I miss most from home is the chocolate. Seriously hoping that 7 weeks home (May 1st to June 20th) is going to be long enough for me to get my next 2...
