The dealings I've had in Sicily with planning and the town hall are weird, my parents friends (one used to work there) have very kindly dealt with it all for me! Her cousin works...

Sounds like I great set up.
I've bought a wee house in Sicily, didn't really think too deeply about it all - just went for it, as I've wanted to live in Italy for years.
