Re: New Processing Priorities for GSM and Business Visas - Effective 23 September

I do agree with what you are saying Alan, as I have said previously, I can 100% understand why the Aus Government is trying to protect it's citizens and economy. That is not in dispute. What IS in...

Re: New Processing Priorities for GSM and Business Visas - Effective 23 September

You are right Dennis, and herein lies the crux of the matter. The Canadian Government only applied the changes to the applications received AFTER the changes were made, not to active applications,...

Re: New Processing Priorities for GSM and Business Visas - Effective 23 September

Hi Sam

It really depends on what type of visa you have applied for and whether you have employer, state or family sponsorship etc. I see that your occupation is on the CSL - have a read through...

Re: New Processing Priorities for GSM and Business Visas - Effective 23 September

How dare you!? "cheer up"?? Listen, I don't think you appreciate how this constant changing of timescales has affected some people's lives, and to what severity in many cases. And i'm not just...

Re: New Processing Priorities for GSM and Business Visas - Effective 23 September

Agreed. I am absolutely livid about this, how can they keep changing the goalposts when they have taken our money in advance? The simple fact of the matter is that I would NEVER have started on...

Re: State Sponsored Applicants - Timeline

Oh right, thought you'd applied to NT as well. Think when we last chatted you were still awaiting feedback from VIC. Sorry it didn't pan out. I was the same as you and applied for an off-list...

Re: State Sponsored Applicants - Timeline

Jen - in the case of VIC i'm sure they stated the offer was valid for 6 months, although i'm sure I will be corrected if i'm wrong :p

Have you heard from VIC/NT yet?

Re: 175 & not on CSL

No worries Sooper, i'll keep everything crossed for you:fingerscrossed: Keep us updated.

Unfortunately SS isn't an option for us, the only state list our occupations are on is ACT, and it has to...

Re: 175 & not on CSL

I got a my reply from DIAC this morning, and am posting it here, as promised. And as expected, they've given no information and simply refered me back to the weekly processing updates (which still...

Re: 175 & not on CSL

Any ideas what the situation is when it was the CO who requested you get your medicals and Police Checks done? Surely that's different to mines (I front loaded - stupid I know). I mean, it's no...

Re: 175 & not on CSL

My main frustration is the not knowing. Will it be later this year? Will it be next year or even the next? It's only been 9 months since we submitted our application, and although it's still...

Re: 175 & not on CSL

Hey Jen - I've just done it, so i'll post the reply on here when I get it. :fingerscrossed:

And before anybody jumps on me for sending a PLE to the already over-stretched DIAC, it's my first one...

Re: 175 & not on CSL

Yeah there must be thousands in this boat. At least our house hasn't sold yet, so we still have our home here. Your situation is even worse, what with being in rented accom. and not knowing for how...

Re: 175 & not on CSL

Hi - agreed. If they would just give us a timescale to work towards then we would know whether to hold out for our dream, or make the best of our lives here, but it's the not knowing...... and not...

Re: Discussion on end of year for Visa Quotas 2008-9

Absolutely. We too are at the bottom of the ever-increasing pile of 175s, despite having applied in September 08. At least if you are on the CSL or can apply for SS then you have a timescale to...

Re: IT Prof - Did any one get CO after changing nominated occupation to come on CSL?

Thanks, that clears it up. It's what I thought, but wasn't 100% sure. DIAC will change occupation to match your ACS letter. At the time of submitting my ACS application I had only been...

Re: IT Prof - Did any one get CO after changing nominated occupation to come on CSL?

2231-17. I'm not clear on whether other people who have successfully changed their occupation with DIAC have the correct occupation on their ACS letter. ACS say they would do me a new letter, but...

Yeah me too, applied under 2231-17 Analyst Programmer in Sept 08, when I enquired about changing to 2231-79 (sp. in Oracle) I received reply from DIAC stating that it isn't possible to change your...
