Re: Book shelves

Thanks for all your helpful suggestions. Aki? Don't think we have that here (Costa de la Luz).

Book shelves

Okay, I just had to have a rant about this.

Re: And your favourite indigenous Spanish music is?

My Spanish teacher in UK (who is from Gran Canaria) introduced me to 'Ojala' by Silvio Rodriguez, as an exercise in the subjunctive! But I fell in love with the song. - (V. popular Cuban...

Re: Solar panels

Perhaps our problem was that the system wasn't closed - there being no separate indirect cylinder. The water we were using was the water that circulated through the panels.

There are 2 panels, by...

Re: Solar panels

You might be interested in our experience.

We got a solar panel put on the roof 6 years ago, with a 50% grant, and this has provided all our hot water needs except for 2-3 months in the winter.

Hi everybody!

We rent out our house in Chiclana when we're in the UK, and advertise it on Owners Direct and some other sites.

Re: Pet stories

Oh dear. We're thinking of taking our 2 mature boys (cats) to Spain via the ferry to Santander, but hadn't considered this difficulty. Presumably it's a problem every time you stop for a coffee, or...

Re: What's the worst thing you've eaten by accident?

You don't have to be in Greece to be given sea anemone. We ordered ortiguillas in El Puerto de Santa Maria out of curiosity. What came was deep fried in batter and tasted like fishy mushrooms. ...

Re: to old to learn spanish

Yes, of course. But I was thinking of listening comprehension.

These poor people are desperately listening for a 'yo' or a 'tu' and wondering why they're not picking up the sense of what's...

"Yes, I will do that" and...

Actually we put the aircon in primarily for our own benefit.

Again - thanks for all your comments. The overall message is clear, and we'll act accordingly!
