Re: Spanish Succession/Inheritance Tax

Re: Spanish Succession/Inheritance Tax

Here's my twopennyworth.

Re: Just ONE SENTENCE why we should STAY in Spain !

Because the weather is better; because there is virtually no taxation of any sort if you do it right; because the food and wine are great; because it is cheap to get to and fro to the UK if you need...

Re: New inheritance tax laws

In that case the only way they would accept that is if you were indeed there for more than 183 days in each tax year.

Do you have any assets, interests, bank accounts, rental agreements etc in the UK...

Re: New inheritance tax laws

Again. let's be clear about this as here are two areas of taxation that people get wrong time and time again.

Re: New inheritance tax laws

Let's be clear about this.

Your primary residence is only your primary residence if it is exactly that. So if you are resident in Spain for 183 days or more a year (not consecutive)then your...

Re: New inheritance tax laws

Inheritance tax is complex at the best of times, trouble is most people only get to find out at the worst time - when someone dies.
