The massive 1.5% interest cut should hopefully kickstart the market now :thumbup:

Most of the banks have been forced by the government to pass it on, too, so it will make borrowing a lot cheaper...

Yeah, any house tha's currently on the market for between £175k and £200k is now going to struggle to achieve anything over £175k due to the new stamp duty level. Way to go,Darling! :mad:

Although that's technically mortgage fraud if he doesn't declare it to his mortgage lender; and if he does declare it, they won't count it as being a deposit.

Unfortunately that's not true. You still need to pay the council tax if the property is empty, although you might get an exemption for the first six months if the property is left unfurnished (i.e....

It really does depend which job it is - things change very quickly, demand can turn to oversupply within a few months.
