Re: I am in Passport Application Hell (any advice?)

I am not sure why, but I have never been charged, and I have made several attempts after April 1. I suspect it may be because my application began processing in January - but that is just a guess.

Re: I am in Passport Application Hell (any advice?)

Yes, I happen to have a friend there who is a manager who has my address flagged to hold the package and then call me if/when it comes in.

Re: I am in Passport Application Hell (any advice?)

The trick is, I was charged on the 5th - but has it been shipped yet? There is no way to find out. Moreover, I am not at the address that the embassy has - I moved out just the other day. I wonder if...

Re: I am in Passport Application Hell (any advice?)

Re: I am in Passport Application Hell (any advice?)

Re: I am in Passport Application Hell (any advice?)

Re: I am in Passport Application Hell (any advice?)

Just as an update, I talked with the state of Oregon vital records folks, who said that issues like mine are typically resolved by an apostille letter. So I will try that out and see if it works.

Re: I am in Passport Application Hell (any advice?)

It is clear the the birth was registered, my parents simply did not order a copy of that registration until 5 years later. I was born in Oregon in a hospital, and I have the hospital document with my...

Re: I am in Passport Application Hell (any advice?)

My birthdate is correct, but they need a document that was issued within six months (if I remember correctly) of my birth. The issue date on my current certificate is 1987 - whereas I was born in...

Re: I am in Passport Application Hell (any advice?)

Sure I have, but there's never ever been a problem with it. In fact, I am pretty sure that because of school and my first passport my parents did get my birth certificate when I was five....

Re: I am in Passport Application Hell (any advice?)

I actually sent my US passport along to the consulate every time (even though I know that is a bit of a faux pas). I am not sure what you mean by "school records" - maybe I have whatever these are.

I am in Passport Application Hell (any advice?)

I was born in the US, but I am British through my father. I just received back my 7th attempt at my British passport.

The way this has gone is that an error or insufficient detail in documentation...

Re: Getting children born in US their UK passport
