Thanks for all this. The message I think I am getting is that I will get a concession and not pay UK tax on earnings made in Dubai if I stay for over a year, my salary will let me live decently as...

Thanks guys.

I have read the tax thing several times, what I don't understand is that if I go to Dubai half way through the tax year and stay for one year do I have to pay tax on the money I earn...

Thanks for the advice all.

The 55k is subject to tax, however I understand that I would not be paying this in Dubai?

The way I have calculated things is:

Rent: 120,000
Utilities: 12,000...
