Pumicestone passage - Bribie Island

We hear that there are dolphins and dugongs etc around Bribie Island.
We are looking to spend some time around there.

Best place to find out about Sea dangers?

When we went to Oz we kept seeing things about rips, breaks etc.
As the sea looks more dangerous there where can we find out about this, sharks, what to do with jellyfish stings etc?
