Thanks Zoe, Steve, and Henry! I have already had fingerprints taken by the TSA so hopefully that will avoid delays when I arrive.

Thanks for the replies so far. I'm a "she" by the way, and yes I'll be using the M1 for pilot training so aware there might be extra attention given to my application!

I am planning to go to the US for training for about a month, which will require an M1 visa. My UK visa expires in June (I am Australian) and I will apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain for the UK...

Thanks Ray. I'd want to do more than take notes, such as send articles for publication. I could always do that while on an excursion outside the US, but that does seem to be circumventing the rules...

If I apply for a GC via the DV lottery (and am unsuccessful), will any later applications for E3 be refused? I'm concerned that just by applying, there might be issues with conflicting intent.

Okay, I'm new to the E3 visa but have heard if you apply for a GC through the diversity lottery, you won't be able to get an E3 visa afterwards. Is this correct?
