Strange - obviously the lower emmisions, reduced congestion, and less road wear doesn't factor much into it!

The under 61cc/above divide also doesn't make much sense being only a $10 difference...

Yeah I'm in IT development, contracting at the moment, arguably this may be more sought after than infrastructure? This is my first job in NZ although I do know others here in the IT field here....

Yeah, but I guess if you did that same search on jobserve.co.uk you'd probably get proportional results back for mainly roles that involved looking after legacy systems, so I wouldn't say it's any...

Remember it also depends where abouts in the UK you have come from. For me, coming from a small city in the UK to a large one in NZ, I get paid more here. And I still had to endure those high UK fuel...

I think there is a perception that IT lags behind in Australia/NZ compared to the UK. I've found that not to be the case after working in Sydney and now Auckland.
