Re: Whinging Pom House Seller (Nov 08 onwards)

Really great pics Tina. You all look great and superb setting. Nice to see some cheerful and happy stuff for a change.

Lol at Steve in his suit and black sandals.

Re: Whinging Pom House Seller (Nov 08 onwards)

Could be worse.

In the US they are bulldozing loads of newly built fancy mansions in South California.

No buyers, no other developers wanting to take over the developments, no money to lend...

Re: Anyone else getting stuck in UK because of housing market?

You say 10 months ago, and then you later say you bought it in March 2007.

Re: Whinging Pom House seller (The Continuation)

Trouble is, you'll soon be on the other side of it.

In a few months, you'll be settling in to a new life in Aus (which I wish you well with).

If you do plan to buy in Aus near immediately (as...

Re: UK Property Market: blowing off some steam...

Why unbelievable? How much would renting have cost you for the house over 5 years?

£800 per month lets say = x 12 = £9,600
x 5 = £48,000

It looks like our sale will see use coming out at the...

Re: Did anyone watch that tonight programme last night?

As for the person who got out with good timing and banked much of their house price inflation gains, fair play to you.

However the problem is a lot of people didn't expect any house price...

Re: Did anyone watch that tonight programme last night?

You've also got to factor in real-world happenings of the last 11 years.

All these new fancy financial instruments that were created which have since lost their fancy ratings such as AAA+.

The...

Re: Whinging Pom House seller (The Continuation)

You do realise the maths for "waiting it out" doesn't work as neatly?

For example on a £100,000 house (where such houses exist at that price) if it fell back 30% = £70,000. You'd then need to...

Re: Whinging Pom House seller (The Continuation)

Just to give you some reasoning why I'm 99.5% sure it's a Nigerian scam... of which there are thousands of variations.

Often the greeting is overly cheery, or in this instance, not using your...

Re: Whinging Pom House seller (The Continuation)

Nice going Sam and Mick.

Really pleased for you both. Also helped lift my own spirits a bit to hear of two successful exchanges going through from this thread on the same day.

Re: Whinging Pom House seller (The Continuation)

I've read an article where a guy was throwing in his Porsche with the house sale, but I just hope it works out for you. (BTW this is a new thread)

Obviously you've thought this through, but...

Re: This will do your brains in....

I got to question 55.

Pretty infuriating at times, but addictive.

Very clever at times, but sometimes a bit too difficult.

For example, I liked the first question, but quite a tough one to...

Re: Whinging Pom House seller

I'm not sure it's about pricing correctly like the rest of the market for similar houses in your area.

When owners followed the 5% cuts given by similar sellers in their area, it was those who...

Re: Whinging Pom House seller

Why don't you just really lower your house prices, so that they stand out as a real bargain?

I'm not saying that to lose you money, but won't whatever you sell for go further in Australia now for...

Re: Whinging Pom House seller
