Thanks Ian, i like the email! I didn't book the appointment as I was told that as I ticked yes and denied an ESTA I should email first and see what response I get. going to leave it 24 hours to think...

I looked at the DHS trip but I am not of any of the below criteria. Should I still go ahead?

Also the Embassey can't tell me why I was denied an ESTA and if they deny me a tourist visa am I...

The consular officer isn't supposed to deny someone a visa solely because they appear eligible for the VWP and that probably wasn't the reason for the denial. The consulate probably denied the visa...

Ahhhhhh Ok, Ill check that now.

"So there was a little bit more. It was a straight denial so you cannot use the VWP.

You were very lucky to have got away with subsequent visits using the VWP...

I know but these days you just don't know. Just like that woman said about the berievment, its scary what can be accessed about people. I can't think of any reason at all why they would have that...

I just looked back at some stuff i had written down and I was also denied for lack of commitment to the UK. I had no strong ties. I live at home, I work an easy common job, I have no major bills ect ...
