At the moment if you have no funds in Australia then it is cheaper to pay in London than send money over to Australia and pay there.
The exchange rate is fixed on the 1st Jan and 1st July for 6...

I received an e mail from a different CO, mine was on holiday but at least the process was not held up, asking for the 2nd VAC payment. It was requested I pay by Visa Credit or with a A$...

It looks like you have to pay the AOS bond before a decision is made on whether you are receiving your Visa or not. What happens if you pay it then you are turned down or you change your mind and...

Just done some research and the following Centrelink payments are recoverable out of the AOS, taken from the Centrelink website.

Austudy, Crisis Payment, Newstart Allowance, Parenting...

Can anyone easily explain what the AOS bond is for, what can Centrelink use the money for. What benefits are we likely to receive which is paid for out of the bond, we are to old for unemployment...

Just checked and paying in London will cost us £22,310 each until the end of June and then the new exchange rate comes in for the next six months.
Paying in Oz is about £21,381 at the moment.

Finally today we sent off our final paperwork and UK police certificates to our CO.
That only leaves the results from our medicals which the Doctor said he hoped he would get in the post also today...

Went to Manchester yesterday (Monday) and had our medicals, blood tests and chest x rays so once the results are known the Doctor sends them off, probably at the end of the week.
