Re: Would we have to leave?

If we *really* want to stay?? I'm sorry but we have just been dealt one of the biggest blows of our lives... We have waited nearly 2 years for our PR to come through and now that we are literally...

Re: Would we have to leave?

We have talked to his employer, explained the situation, No dice.

So, we're done. When I read in one of the other replies that they (the poster and her friend) had been asked - when landing! -...

Re: Would we have to leave?

Thanks, I knew I'd seen the matrix before, I just couldn't find it again. From that, I'm pretty sure I fall under Skill Level B (major group 12), so that's at least something. So, if I understand it...

Re: Would we have to leave?

Sorry, I got hung up about the 0 because that seems the most straightforward one. Is it true that Skill level A are all NOC codes that don't start with 0 but have 1 as the 2nd digit - like 2143 or...

Re: Would we have to leave?

I don't know my NOC job code. I'm an administrator but when I look up the job description it isn't really what I do. I would probably fall most under 122, which isn't the 0 category we want.

And...

Re: Would we have to leave?

That is just awful  If he does get laid off and we tell CIC, we're out (even though we are so close) but if we *don't tell them and they find out afterwards, we might still be drummed out...

Re: Would we have to leave?

That's true and considering the way this has been going, they would probably contact them. If only we had applied under the CEC when we started! Than all of this would be a non-issue and we could...

Re: Would we have to leave?

Thank you very much. The supreme irony being - of course - that we are currently applying under FSW2 and that has taken nearly 2 years so far.

If my employer is kind enough to get...

Re: Would we have to leave?

I don't think I can apply for PNP under my job. On the website it says that to qualify for that you need:

•At least two years (24 months) of work experience (within the previous five years) in...

Re: Would we have to leave?

But if we apply all over again for FSW Cat 2 using my job, surely I would need a new TWP? And to get a new TWP, I would need an LMO even if it is a skilled job? At least that's what the CIC website...

Re: Would we have to leave?

Thank you for your reply :) I don't think the PNP would work because we would still need a job offer (and if we want to get a TWP, we would need an LMO, something he didn't need because we came in on...

Re: Would we have to leave?

The problem is that I currently work on a spousal open work permit, which means my company didn't need an LMO to hire me. If I want to apply for a new TWP (and not a SOWP) using my current job, my...

Re: Would we have to leave?

That's not an option for us. If we get the news, it will be soon (as in days rather than weeks) and from that moment, he would have 2 weeks. We have only just done our medicals and the results aren't...

Re: Would we have to leave?

Nope nothing. He is supposed to have a permanent job. He's worked for the company for 12 years but despite that, he would get 2 weeks notice :(

Re: Would we have to leave?

I just had a quick look and maybe, yes, but we'd still need to get a new TWP and LMO (and, of course, Mr B will need to find a new job) and we would have to start all over again...

Re: Would we have to leave?

I know what you're saying (and I really appreciate the kind words) but to be honest, after all the time and money we have invested in this application, it's hard to remain hopeful. Even if Mr B finds...

Re: Would we have to leave?

Thank you. I just can't believe this....we applied in march 2011 and after 18 months of waiting we only just got our medical requests which we had last monday....We are so close and now all hope is...

Re: Would we have to leave?

Thanks for you reply. We came in through an intra-company transfer for my husband and it's his job that we applied under. If he did lose his job now, would we be OK to stay in Canada until the TWP...

Would we have to leave?

We have put in for PR and have done our medicals last week. Our TWP runs out in Feb '13 but now it seems Mr B is about to lose his job. I have a job under an SOWP.

I have tried finding out what...

Re: The 2011 FSW timeline club

Oh I didn't mean you made me worry more, it was more CIC that seems to have done nothing with our case.
You have been nothing but kind and you certainly bolstered my spirits :) I share your hope...

Re: The 2011 FSW timeline club

Got a reply from that same LBM (even though we did not email her/him) saying that our case is still awaiting review by an officer and that they will contact us as soon as they are able to.
He/she...

We already did. They told me they can't give out case specific information.

I've just emailed that same address again, explaining how worried we are, but I doubt it will make a difference. How...

Re: The 2011 FSW timeline club

You mean for us? We are not even *in process* yet. Like I said, we are *still* labelled "Received by Visa Office". That's it. That's been the case for the last 15 months. I would be *delighted* if we...
