Re: UK crime falling

Don't worry mate, comment made firmly tongue in cheek. To be honest, my experience of aussies whilst spending just over half a year there was not particularly positive. My friends had the same...

Re: UK crime falling

Actually, I'm half Swedish (but speak English with a southern English accent) so I am indeed unbiased. Aussies and yanks are definitely, in my opinion, more prone to violence than English people....

Re: UK crime falling

[QUOTE=derbyflan;6582929]Being stamped upon and kicked unconscious to the point that you now need an emergency craniotomy is serious enough. As I said, that's just in a small market town 40 miles...

Re: American wanting to move to UK

I know this comment was made a while back but; Jesus, you must be crazy!! The north of England is not a partcularly sunny place but you are out of your tree describing it as a "sunless" land. It...

Re: What has happened to Britain?

A superb post. This has always puzzled me. I have never known a country where such a large number of people actually discourage others from moving to or even visiting the UK. They swear that the UK...

Re: What has happened to Britain?

Actually, I'm going to Australia for the cultural diversity and the colourful history. And the lovely people of course! They are so understated and unassuming

Re: Teenagers threaten my 11 year old in the park

Jesus, I'm so disappointed; I thought Australia was perfect and nothing bad ever happened there and that they have perfect weather and you're everyone's "mate" and there are no scallies!!:(

I was...

Re: groundhog day!!!!!!!!!

No, not at all funny for you. You don't, however, sound as though you are heading back to the UK so just wondered why you were on the MBTUK forum? That's why I asked

Re: Back in the UK and having doubts about emigrating

Mate, it's fine that you're trying to encourage her to go out to Oz, but there is no need to start the UK slagging. The UK is one of the best places in the world for jobs, so the first reason you...

Re: Don't you just hate the way Australians defend this place??!!

Rubbish. The English are hardly the only ones who tried to claim superiority over other people in the past. Saying that they should not be patriotic because of that is ludicrous. Nowadays, I think...

Re: erm...

I think that two years is plenty of time to know if you like your adopted country or not. If you stay for a very long time, you might learn to live with it but that does not mean that you like it....

Re: From South Africa to UK

I wouldn't call your petty rubbishing of the British climate "insight". I would say you're just stirring up sh*t.

Remember also that this is one of the few places that ex-pats as well as ex...
