Have you tried ringing O2?
I have a K800i pay as you go. Rang O2 to see if it was locked, which it was.
As I have it over 12 months they are willing to unlock the phone.
Now waiting the 28 days...

I opened up a UK HSBC account before I left as I wanted to open a HSBC account in OZ and liked the idea of being with the 1 bank, thinking it would make transfering money easy.

Could have put my life on hold but not prepared to wait now my mind is made up. Took redundancy so financial package has helped. Could have waited and still been laid off or be 1...

I'm moving to Melbourne in 3 months and decided on HSBC or Citibank who both use Westpac Atm's.
Went with HSBC in the end as they have a few more branches in Melbourne and as I wanted a UK account...

I live near Hertford. Congratulations on getting your visa.
Chose Melbourne for similar reasons, have a mate in Melbourne, so knowing someone and having somewhere to stay will make things easier...
