Can I ask one more thing, does the PR card have passport details on it? Ie do you need to renew PR card if you get a new passport?

Me and the OH just got our passport request (yay!)

We had meds in September and plan to land for week or so in January 08.

Then my passport expires in Aug 08.

We had ours September 6th in Bristol (2 of us, me and OH) and the letter from embassy arrived just over a week a ago.

Yours should arrive any day now I reckon ;)

I'm happy to say the panic is over :)

Got a email from my OH saying that's it's arrived.

We'll open it when I get back from work tonight.

Okay, so this is what happened.

Last Tuesday my boyfriend's dad called to say that an A5 maple-leafed envelope had arrived at his house for us.

That's great news! I was thinking we would have to do a special landing trip in the next couple of months.

But with that kind of time we can just move properly in May/June and get our visas...

We were asked to pay the Right of Permanent Residents fee at the same time as we were asked to take the medicals. It costs $490 each (£250 or so I think). Also had to pay an extra £15 each to...

Can anyone tell me how long you have to land and get the passport stamped once we get the visas.

We're taking our medicals in early Sept.
