BC is the most like the UK in every way but kind of expensive which you are used to anyway from San Francisco!! Alberta is cheaper and is fine, hubby was in Edmonton and did not like it too much, too...

I say go. All my Brit friends talk endlessly about the same problems. I've been here 14 years and it doesn't get any easier - it just gets more complicated to leave and a huge move gets more scary....
