Re: Trailing spouse in Houston!

"Energy Corridor"? That's a new one on me!
Enjoy your trip!

Just seen a map, so you're near Katy around I-10? That's still a bit of a hike for me, but if you're planning a meet,...

Re: Just moved to Texas HELP REQUIRED on Driving License

There was also a question on law that threw me as they don't use the same terminology. Most of it is common sense though. In a lot of places you get the option of using a computer terminal or hand...

Re: GSM Phone - USA/UK

I kept my PAYG phone from Orange when I moved from the UK to US. As long as you keep credit on it, you be able to use it every trip.
When I travel back to Blighty, I set a voicemail up on my US...

My in-laws were due to fly over with them in October. Lucky for them, the airline folded before they booked tickets. :(

Re: just survived a tornado !!

Same here, but for $30, I'm not going to grumble about getting one, just to be safe! (I went for a S.A.M.E. model)

Thanks paul1968mcr for the "heads up".

So pleased you made it...

Re: How difficult is it to arrange a Dog as excess luggage?

I think it might be something with the airline and UK rabies/quarantine laws. AFAIK no animal can fly out of the UK as excess.

Our cat came as cargo, he flew out a few days after us and apart from...

Re: People in Texas with cats

Ooh that's handy to know. Most airlines won't allow them in the cabin on a trans-atlantic flight. US will allow cats in the cabin on domestic flights, but that allowance might be flight-operator...

Re: People in Texas with cats

Everywhere I've read has cautioned against sedating, but your vet will know best. As I understand it the cabin pressure in cargo, coupled with the sedative can have dramatic effects on your...

We settled on the same compromise. On the odd occasion, when he's been really persistent, I've given in and let him out at night, but he's not gone for long - thankfully. He's got into a couple of...

Re: A knock at the door

Re: Houston get-together

Good to see y'all!
I had Cornish pastie, mash and peas. The mash was sloppy, but pretty good and the pastie was pretty much spot on. Looked suspiciously like a Ginsters!
