I'm pretty sure it depends on the state's policy when you roadworthy. But i know down here in Tas it's legal as long as it doesn't go above 94 decabels :)

It's probably worth asking the people...

I didn't drain either when i imported mine. Only thing my husband did was run the carbs out of fuel so that she'd start when she got over here (which she did after a bump start from the battery...

The only thing you'll need to keep in mind if buying, Is you need to have owned the vehicle for a minimum of 12 months to be able to ship to Australia, otherwise you can get bombarded with all sorts...
