i lived in nz for 27 years then went to the uk for a while - got 'homesick' went back to nz and lasted only a few months - couldnt believe how boring (imo) it was and how i had ever managed to stay...

i have a kiwi passport with stamp entitling me to remain indefinitely in the uk.
we are moving to oz. nz passport expiring soon so does anyone know how i go about getting that stamp xferred to new...

i just thought that new zealanders could apply for perm res after residing in oz after a certain time - just on the basis of being a kiwi

thanks for the reply jaj - you are right - i think i am confused.

but if his wife lives in oz for 2 yrs then applies for perm res she can then sponsor her hubby to get perm res can she not??

if your wife has a nz passport and 'not an eligible nz citizen' then when she enters oz she will automatically get a special cat visa which allows her to remain in oz indefinitely - if after 5 years...
