Re: A Bit of Reassurance Today...

That's a bit rich. I am not criticising anyone when I say that it is not fair to generalise, I am just making a point. I have realised that this is not a discussion site and you are not open to any...

Re: A Bit of Reassurance Today...

I don't know where you had blue skies everyday! Certainly not in Perth, we actually have Autumn, Spring and winter when it is rains and there are even storms. You really should not generalise.

Re: Pingpongers/those returning to the U.K

Never been to bed at 8.00 pm in my life (11.30 pm usually AND I work as well!), and what's more I don't know anyone who goes to bed at 8.00 pm either. Where on earth do you all live in Perth, and...

Re: Anyone in the same boat!

You will have no problem getting a job - you might have to be in a lower position that what you are used to in th UK, but as soon as you have proven yourself, you can start to advance your career. I...

Re: Oh My God What Have I Done !!!!!

Good luck with your move. Perth is great place to grow up in, there is great weather, beautiful beaches and lots of parks. Some good pubs too.

Re: Am I eating correctly

protein is the key (eggs, lean meat, nuts, legumes) - make sure you have some at brekkie, lunch and dinner as it stops you feeling hungry. Carbs make you hungry as it is converted to sugar.

Re: is the grass really greener?

I wonder how long you will be in thrall of castle ruins and old churches... chances are you will be living in a town in the UK where the houses have been built in the last century... and they are all...

Re: Pingpongers/those returning to the U.K

Funnily enough most people work in Australia and therefore can't go out all night/late during the week. When I visited the UK it seemed to be only the tourists who went out late at night during the...

Re: Just found this...

Sorry FPM - I forgot the UK calls suburbs "villages"! And since you are so determined to dwell on all of the negatives about Australia, is that huge pall of smog still hanging over Manchester? You...

Re: Just found this...

What a convenient memory you have. You have obviously forgotten about some of your delightful citizens, like the Wests and the Moors Murderers to name just a couple. The more I read the insults on...

Re: UK aint so bad!

Saturday night? Now I know you're living in a different Universe! It's Monday night here and I didn't post until this afternoon. Better check your calendar mate!

Re: UK aint so bad!

No you don't have to "pretend" to like everything. Maybe you could just try finding one teeny weeny thing you like about the place. I haven't yet and nor do I have any intention of knocking the UK,...

Re: UK aint so bad!

No I can't say I have lived everywhere in Australia, which is a shame because you all seem to have lived in every possible corner of the UK and can therefore claim with great sincerity that anyone...

Re: UK aint so bad!

Golly, I would love to know where in Australia you all live. What with flies attacking you by the thousands, (if not millions!) fish that you have to mortgage your house for, (yeah sorry about that...

Re: UK aint so bad!

I take your point about this site not being the correct one for me and I will now disappear (into the rather glorious sunset). I was not aware that it was only for Expats who felt the need to remind...

Re: UK aint so bad!

Okay, conversation over! No point posting anyway because you guys don't want a discussion forum, you only like the people who come out with the same old diatribe about Australia. I can see that...

Re: UK aint so bad!

Yep, you got it in one. I live here because my friends and family are here and it is my home. And it is rather bizarre that I don't seem to experience all of the negatives that you lot seem to. ...

Angry Re: UK aint so bad!

I find it very frustrating to read the negative comments about Australia from some who post on this site. Oz is not a perfect place to live, and I don't know one Aussie who claims that it is. But...
