You need a TTIN to work even if you have a EAD as you don't get a SS number and you will need one or the other to work!

Your bad credit in the UK won't account for much in the Us as is the case with most things.

The L1a visa holder will get a SS# at the local SS office, you will need your Passport with the visa and most importantly your I-94 card (as this overides all visas). Your spouse can get a tax ID #...
