I've packed once to go to Australia, once to go back to UK (the shippers came last week), and packing it all again to go to Canada is on the cards.

My advice: If you don't use it, don't pack it....

The cat flys in the hold (Don't worry, it's all pressurized and air conditioned), and gets delivered directly from the plane to the customs/DEFRA people at the other end. Then either yourself...
