Re: To whoever got an email on 12/07/06 on I-751

Just a note to fellow CSC I-751 filers -- we sent in our packet in mid-September, and two days ago received the "card production ordered" e-mail. Actually received four of them simultaneously. :)

Re: Do all I751 denied cases result in removal proceedings?

If he is a British/UK citizen, doesn't he qualify for the VWP (and thus, no need for a visa for travel to the USA)?

Re: I-751 at Cali Service Center

They most certainly do not. The instructions say: "All checks and money orders must be drawn on a bank or other institution located in the United States."

This can be a personal check or cashier's...

Re: Welcome letters and green card received

It *does* look really cool, at least to my eyes. The microprinting and the amazing security features really make it the most advanced piece of ID I've ever seen our government produce. My California...

Re: Did you file AOS in San Francisco???

Read my signature for our timeline at the SF USCIS district office. For us, it took roughly six months from initial AOS filing to the interview. Sounds like the office may be processing things...

Re: Update on AOS interview

Congratulations to a successful fellow San Francisco AOSer!

For what it's worth, our actual PR card arrived in the mail roughly four weeks after our AOS interview.

Of course, it's up to you...

Re: AOS Interview Copies and Originals?

Good luck! We found SF to be a pleasant office to deal with, so I'm hopeful you will have an easy time of it tomorrow.

Re: AOS Interview Copies and Originals?

Hi:

I'd bring two sets...the originals and the photocopies. If they ask for something specific, pull out the photocopy and fall back on the original if asked.

When we were at our I-485 in SFO...

Re: Fiancee in Singapore

They are consular officers situated at the U.S. Embassy in Singapore. That's why it says U.S. EMBASSY SINGAPORE across the top of the page, and "Consular Services" as the title of the information.

Re: Fiancee in Singapore

It depends. Does your fiancee hold permanent residency status in Singapore? If the answer is yes, she may go through the embassy (not consulate...there isn't one in Singapore).

If she is on some...

Re: San Francisco I130/131/485 Filing - No receipt or anything for 45days

Look at our timeline below. It took two months to hear from SF USCIS after sending in our I-485 packet. If 45 days have passed, you should probably be receiving a receipt and further instructions...

Re: 10-yr journey nearing its end

Many congratulations! My own Canuck is only just now a permanent resident (as of this week) but she's looking forward to the stage you have now reached.

Best of luck -- and congrats again.

Re: Successful AOS interview -- San Francisco

We had one delay in our interview, as the originally scheduled one coincided with our overseas wedding banquet. We successfully rescheduled, but it did push back our interview date by about seven...

Successful AOS interview -- San Francisco

Hi:

Our AOS interview concluded successfully this morning at the San Francisco USCIS office. Here's a quick synopsis of what happened:

We arrived about 30 minutes prior to our scheduled...

Re: SF: When to worry about NOAs (485, 765, 131)?

Everything is still out of SF until April, as I understand it. You filed your I-485 package in SF, and you should expect to deal only with them for the remainder of AOS.

If your checks were cashed...

Re: "Other names" issue

Not true, at least here in San Francisco. I'm the USC and the instructions mailed to us in advance of our AOS interview clearly stated that I am to bring an updated G-325A biographic information form...

Re: SF: When to worry about NOAs (485, 765, 131)?

Correct, I think. I can't imagine why this new policy would affect those who have already filed at their district offices, aside from those who have just filed at the offices which switched over to...

Re: SF: When to worry about NOAs (485, 765, 131)?

Not for district office processing. Unfortunately, for this stage of the process, applicants are in the dark until the NOA arrives in the mail (which for us was accompanied by information for EAD/AP...

Re: SF: When to worry about NOAs (485, 765, 131)?

Not sure where you heard 2-3 weeks...it's been consistently 6-8 weeks for months out of San Francisco. Consult my timeline below if you're still wondering.

Bottom line: you have at least four-five...

Re: Got my interview date in the mail

Congratulations. We're heading into the SF USCIS office for our own AOS interview in about two weeks, so we'll be sure to post our experiences here for your benefit and others as well.

Updated/new I-864 for AOS interview -- notarized?

Hi:

After reading a number of posts regarding the wisdom of bringing an updated I-864 to one's AOS interview (updated from the one filed with I-485), I was wondering if anyone knows whether this...

Re: San Francisco AOS Update

We're going to be in Malaysia. Even if we changed our flights and left literally at the crack of dawn the morning after the banquet, we wouldn't be able to arrive back in the U.S. until the evening...
